The brand was born in Los Altos de Jalisco, one of Mexico’s renowned tequila producing regions. Espolòn’s home, Casa San Nicolas, was established in 1996, bringing together traditional tequila-making knowledge with Oropeza’s own approach to the craft.

Even the name has meaning. Espolòn is Spanish for “spur”, a nod to the rooster, a symbol of Mexican pride and one of the defining characters of the brand.

Inspired by Mexican history and the work of celebrated Mexican artist José Guadalupe Posada, Espolòn’s labels are designed to tell a story of their own.
